May. 8th, 2018 06:45 pmNever mind the songbirds and the screaming children in the background. I mean, it’s either the screams of children drunk on the good weather on one side, or the blare of traffic on the other. I know which one I’d prefer to listen to! This fic was chosen from the football BP list, for those who have given permission to podfic. So, some observations
- I get why @itsadrizzit does cold reads. For real, I didn’t have the time to reread this fic beforehand. I just went, “Ah, 2k words, BP, and I have thirty minutes of quiet time? Go, go, go!!!”
- I have a noticeable reading flow! I am not stumbling over words anymore. *insert Azonto dance of celebration here*
- The readings have more expression! Because I know the basics of editing as I go on, so if I trip up, I got this.
- I’m getting an idea of how much reading time a fic will take, and am able to snap into prep and recording mode relatively easily.
- When it comes to music choices, I’m pretty cloth-eared, so save a song being spelt out in fic to be included, I won’t be curating mixes on this sort of thing.
That’s it, really! The fic itself is straightforward emotionally, linearly and with a popular pairing people write as sweet. So I’m now back to the footie BP eyeing up another fic to record.
My S/O is all, “So when you’ve done all the fifteen podfics, will you share them, whether you decide to chuck in the whole activity in or not?” To be honest, I don’t know?
That isn’t the point? I’m giving myself a chance to learn and grow in my own time, and I think 15 fics or sixty hours is enough to show progress. However, if the effort is middling to lacklustre, I can’t see why I’d want to share it?
