*big project pokes back*
So I’m going over my notes, revising the things I’ve learnt in Audacity so far, since I’m committed to giving both GarageBand and Audacity a fair shake (although I think by the time I’m done with my big project, I’d have worked with Audacity for longer).
There are also notes for expression, and beats of time, and what to be aware of next time. For certain things I don’t know (there are multitudes), I do ask questions from anyone who isn’t sick of answering, and make notes, and try to really understand. I do a test read with one of my fanfics (poor things, they never get treated right by me) for effects, fade-ins, tonal differences, that sort of thing. I that like how you’d treat practising scales on a piano, or knitting and ripping back jumper five times before it fit (yes ).
When I’m ready, I get up early and record what I can (between 06:00-07:00). There are Municipal works going on around me from Monday to Friday from as early as 08:00, and my weekends are either spent recording in my camping Auto (it’s not a caravan, not really), or in my bedroom. Sometimes in the evenings, when there’s a patch of silence, I’ll run to my room, lock myself in, set a time for twenty minutes and record, but that’s pretty rare (except for Friday evenings).
Normally, in the evenings, life depending (due to work and various commitments) I do like to edits with the listen through. After having to take down and recut my last 13k word project, I’m going to either shoot for the moon for a listening beta or just upload this to my phone and go for a walk, and make notes on the fic rests.
With my last podfic, I realise that silences are important.
Sooo, wish me luck!
