fandom snowflake challenge

In your own space, post recs for at least three fanworks that you did not create. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
Orbiter Dictum Steve Rogers/ Tony Stark (616)First fanfic in the Stony fandom that not only piqued my interest but dragged me into the fandom kicking and screaming, tbh. It's domestic, with intimacy on all levels in the best way.
By Any Other Name (Multilingual Loving) Charles Xavier/Eric Lensherr (X-men First Class) A short, sharp punch in the chest. How to say I love you in so many words, even though you drift apart, but at the end they count for nowt.
horns of a deer, feet of a tiger Tony Stark, but if Tony Stark were an moc (Vietnamese American, to be precise). I can't do better than the author's notes at the top of the fic, tbh. Go read. But in light of the whole 'the danger of a single story' byy Chimamanda Ngozi, this fic is still relevant and necessary and moving and GOOD.
This Bitch of A Country Xabi Alonso/Steven Gerrard.
This story is everything. It's about loss and missed chances, and regrets that sit on the tongue, that press against teeth, but you force them back to enjoy a moment of unalloyed joy (for want of a better word). It's a story about footballers - and it feels like footballers, like men who've seen a bit too much in their careers. Of mixed fortunes, and just - YES. This story is everything, and honestly, if I can write as well as this, I'll drop the mic and just withdraw from fandom spaces forever, tbh. Because if anyone tried to undermine confidence in my writing abilities, I'd be like, "Who gon' check me, boo?" (but imagine that in an English accent. Sort of.). This is the story that made me decide to take a punt on writing in football RPF, tbh.
Things Never Concluded (And Half-Erased) Lewis Hamilton/Nico Rosberg. In a hotel bar in Tokyo, a lonely actor and a damaged, disillusioned, former F1 driver meet and try not to fall in love.Inspired by the movie Lost In Translation - the fic loosely follows the plot of the movie. In a lot of F1 fics with Rosberg/Hamilton, Hamilton always comes off as the villain, no matter the AU, no matter the ways. Although this is an AC, the characterisations are pretty spot on with Rosberg and Hamilton. Niggling and waspish at turns, but a deep emotion there. All of lost_decades' stories are good. Her prose muscular and supple, and she's able to write the filthiest, porniest things, but with an emotional depth that makes me go, "How?"
you got something i need Jurgen Klopp/Zeljko. There isn't enough manager fic in this fandom, tbh. Being a football manager in this increasingly complicated world calls to the fore complicated men, who have to be part shaman/CEO/psychologist/man manager/coach. This is one of the best (and few) football manager fics out there.
Hearts don't break around here Dele Alli/Eric Dier FUTURE AU FIC. Eric Dier is a part of the furniture at Tottenham Hotspur, savvy? He loves his life, his club and he's fine. Dele Alli blows in from his checkered stay at Real Madrid two years later, rocking up to Tottenham Hotspur as if he hadn't even gone away. Eric is undestandably at sixes and sevens with this new development, but you can't stop time or people being people. I loved how hard they had to work at mending the bridges that they made fall down between them and yeah. Awesome. Go read!
Five Times Christian Eriksen Helped His Teammates With Their Problems [podfic] by Itsadrizzit and a passel of podficcers) Christian Eriksen/Vincent Janssen Christian Eriksen has a lot of love for his Hotspur teammates, even if it does get him caught up in their antics and drama. In which Chris just wants to ignore his feelings, Dele and Dier need to talk it out, Son Heung-min is a ridiculous human being, and everyone sends far too many text messages.
Do yourself a favour and download this to your device. Save it for say, a long drive (this is about 2.5 hours long) or a hike, or even a day when you have to Kondo your closest for spring cleaning and you need a story in the background to keep you moving. Give the pairing and team a chance. I know that football fandom is Balkanized, and damned near tribal but this is amazing. Christian is running around trying to get his teammate's lives together at the risk of his unravelling. There's laughter, and sometimes it's tearful and profound, but it's a treat with it just chugging along. At the end of the podfic, you'll be sorry to hear them go, because you like everyone. EVERYONE. If you have ever thought about giving podfic a go, this is a treat. If you don't know the players, just treat this as work with original characters like Check, Please! and go from there. It's a blimming good listen.
