Huh, okay.

Shift tool and I aren’t friends at the minute. That is cool.

The clap/snapping fingers didn’t help with Garageband (I think because the cursor is slower and the timer much more accurate), but on Audacity the tracker absails through, so the snapping does help here with the files. I am straight deleting sections at the minute.

It is late so I am for bed. Got the LAME 3 extension to work by overriding my Mac protections, so that is good.

UPDATE

Okay, seriously, how do you guys edit in Audacity. I don’t mean in terms of cuts and deleting. I mean, if you’ve made a mistake in your audio (like, you’ve fumbled the words) and repeat the sentence, how do you find your way around deleting the sentences? It seems as if I’m editing blind.

For example, I’m reading a passage that goes,

Jan Vertonghen had gotten to know noise. [beginning]

Ever since joining Spurs, tugging on the Lily white, and playing in English stadia for the past two seasons, [mistake made here] |snap noise made here|

[reptition begins here] Ever since joining Spurs, tugging on the Lily white, and playing in English stadia for the past two seasons,he now knew the nuance of noise. Joyous noise, the chants from the Spurs’ travelling contingent, rocking to: [end]

So, at the mistake, I take a pause, do that snap thing, and that’s fine when I. go back to edit, insofar as, I know where the mistake ends (the snap noise), but how do I know where the repetition of the passage begins? Am I meant to edit backwards?

Because I can’t record over the work directly, I have to either repeat the sentence to edit, or probably delete in track one, and record that sentence patch in track two.

So seriously, what’s the strategy for editing in terms of taking out duplicate lines? Because I feel as if I’m flying blind here.
