Garageband can get tae fuck from me and fuck itself all the way off to fuck town and when it gets tae fucking fuck town garageband can then can go and fuck itself again. May lice forever burrow in its pubic hair, may their genitals burn every time they pee - and I hope they live in a COLD BED SIT.

Now that is out of the way:

• I understand how to do basic edits. You have to split regions at playhead, and then split in the middle if you want to get rid of the offending noise bit.


• But now I can’t join them together (yet) for a seamless transition from the split tracks. That’s a work in progress.


• FUCK ME, I have to CREATE A NEW FILE TO JOIN ALL THE SEPARATE FILES TOGETHER?


• I can’t do the tapping/spike thing for mistakes. They are frightfully difficult to edit. The spikes with the noise distorts the quality of the recording (because it moves the pulse from green to red). I will be better off reading the passage, doing a pause and reread.


• Before doing recording, I need to decide how many tracks this fic needs. For instance, if I want layered noises (like a chorus of people singing), I have to have a separate track named. If I want to fade in music, that’s a separate track. A track for the reading itself, and an outro. So for one fic, I should have 3-4 separate named tracks.


• If I get my head around the tracks themselves, I should be able to fade in and out in the work itself in edits, which is handy.

The thing is though, the audio I’m working with is a bit shit for many reasons, and that’s fine and another story.
