Boom. Done. Have done two versions of this fic. One without music and one with. Take that, GarageBand. You will NOT take my 900 mins of podfic assignments away from me. Granted, I wanted to do the tinny voice on the phone bit, but to be honest with you, that’s the next fic. Let me get my head around the basics first.



I haven’t read this fic in a long time. I booked marked it about four years ago, and when I started this podfic project this was one of the fics I wanted to do, and hoped that the writer said yes. Of course, I forgot a lot of stuff:

• There’s cheating in this fic. How did I forget about this? I’m literally coming into it blind to the point where I started laughing in the middle of it, because OMG, how did I forget this part?


• The writer is ESL, and as much as podfic is supposed to be reading it word for word, some of the sentences sound wonky to me with English as an L1, so I subtly edited the really bad bits on the go. It doesn’t change the mood or the meaning, but it sounds a LOT better to the ear.


• There’s a part where the characters argue about music and LOL, how did I forget that moment? It was half exasperating, half sweet.

So done. Stats: Length of fic: 47 mins (audio). Edits and listen through about 90mins. My edits have gotten tighter, and I’m making fewer mistakes on the recording. Unfortunately, the next podfic is 15K OMG. What do you guys do with long audio files of fic.
