Almost, almost...
May. 12th, 2018 05:19 pmPodfic number 5 was almost a success.
Around 11 mins in, there’s a rustle of paper, so I’m going about trying to get my head around noise reduction. But mates I am almost there:
The reading is better because:
Of course, not everything is brilliant though. :/ With the new GarageBand (I had to reload) every time I stop there’s an audible click, which is an annoyance. The sound quality sounds hollow and flat at the same time. The edits are smoother I have yet to reach the standard I want. I have two more practice bits before I launch into the BIG ONES. I’m torn between excitement and trepidation, tbh. Anyway, statistics.
Running time of audio 32 mins
Word count : approximately 5.5k
Edit time: about 58 mins (excluding listen through)

The reading is better because:
- Improved use of silences.
- More expression in narrative
- I’m not gasping for breath like a smoker with a two pack-a -day habit.
- Not stumbling over my words so much!
- No SMACKING and mouth noises are almost non existent
- I am performing! I’m no theatre kid, but listening to it won’t be such a hardship.
